The Anthracite Football League will undergo a name change next Thursday, February 4.

The AFL will no longer be called the Anthracite Football League, but will be called Schuylkill League Football. Additionally, Lehighton School District will serve as the Administrative chair, Jim Thorpe School District will represent the Athletic Directors and Coach Mike Farr, of Schuylkill Haven, will serve as the coaches rep for the league and taking over the Football league leadership under the Constitution and By-Laws of Schuylkill League.

The former AFL has also split into two divisions beginning with the 2016 season after welcoming Pottsville into the league.

Current members of the Schuylkill Football League include:

Division 1: Blue Mountain, Pottsville, North Schuylkill, Jim Thorpe, Tamaqua, Lehighton

Division 2: Marian, Mahanoy Area, Shenandoah Valley, Panther Valley, Schuylkill Haven, Minersville
