A Carbon County man was sentenced to consecutive county prison terms on Thursday for driving under the influence and driving while under suspension-DUI related.

He was one of 11 defendants who previously pleaded guilty to DUI and related counts who were sentenced by Judge Joseph J. Matika.IPP rejectedJason Edward Bianco,26, of Nesquehoning, was sentenced to a total of 180 days to 24 months in prison after Matika denied a request by the defendant to be placed in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program-house arrest. Matika said he does not give the privilege of house arrest to a person who drives drunk when their license is suspended for another drunken driving charge.Bianco was arrested on Dec. 3, 2014, by Nesquehoning police along Route 54. A test revealed Bianco had a 0.16 BAC.On the DUI charge Matika sentenced him to serve 90 days to two years in jail, a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months followed by three years of probation. On the suspension count he was sentenced to serve 45 to 90 days in jail, consecutive to the DUI count and that the full 90 days had to be served, pay a fine of $1,000, and will receive another year license suspension. He was also ordered to render 100 hours of community service and zero tolerance was imposed on drug and alcohol use.He will begin his jail term at 6 p.m. on Jan. 29 and was granted work release privileges.Other defendantsOther defendants sentenced by Matika were:Benjamin Porambo,54, of Summit Hill, was arrested on July 9, 2015, along Mill Road by Mahoning Township police. A test showed 0.22 BAC.Matika sentenced him to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $300, license suspended for a year, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 25 hours of community service.He will serve the prison term on consecutive weekends of Feb. 7 (one day), Feb. 11 (two days), Feb. 18 (one day) and Feb. 21 (one day). The scheduled was granted to accommodate his work schedule.Amanda J. Dezolt,30, of Weatherly, was arrested on Dec. 11, 2014, by Nesquehoning police along Route 93. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced her to serve 60 months in the IPP, with the first four months on electronic monitoring, pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, make restitution of $1,175 and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Matika spared Dezolt a prison term because of various health problems she has to deal with.Frederick Bobal,23, of Beaver Meadows, was arrested on March 27, 2015 along Laurel Street by Weatherly police. A test showed 0.16 BAC.Matika sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail followed by 59 months in the IPP with the first 60 days on electronic monitoring. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, render 100 hours of community service and zero tolerance on drug and alcohol use.He will begin the jail term at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 and serve it on 15 consecutive weekends.Jesse Franklin Snyder,34, of Lehighton, was arrested on March 12, 2015, along Route 443 in Mahoning Township by state police at Lehighton. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year and render 25 hours of community service.The jail term will begin at 9 a.m. on Jan. 26.Kelly Joseph Washburn,45, of Walnutport, was arrested on March 15, 2015, by Mahoning Township police along Route 443. He also pleaded to driving under suspension-DUI related.On the DUI charge he was sentenced to serve 90 days to 60 months in prison, a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, render 100 hours of community service and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.On the suspension charge he was sentenced to serve 45 to 90 days in jail, but must serve the full 90 days, pay a fine of $1,000 and will receive another year suspension. The sentences are concurrent with a probation sentence he is serving in Lehigh County. Matika said he would run the sentences concurrent with each other because Washburn had gone through drug and alcohol programs in Lehigh County and has set up further counseling after he serves his Carbon sentence.He will begin the jail term at noon on Jan. 28.Theresa Mary Kopecki,53, of King of Prussia, Montgomery County, and formerly of Albrightsville, was sentenced on two counts of DUI in separate cases.She was arrested on March 14, 2015, along Route 534 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.12 BAC. The second arrest occurred on May 9, 2015, along Route 903 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.13 BAC.Matika placed her in the IPP for six months on each charge, running consecutively, with a total of 27 days on electronic monitoring. She was also ordered to pay fines totaling $800, license suspended for a total of two years, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render a total of 50 hours of community service.Her IPP supervision will be transferred to Montgomery County.Guillermo L. Candelario,35, of Weatherly, was arrested on Feb. 13, 2015, along Broad Street by Beaver Meadows police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance. He had also pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.On the DUI charge he was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, and license suspended for a year. On the possession count he was placed on probation for six months consecutive to the DUI charge. He must also render a total of 50 hours of community service.He will begin the jail term at 7 p.m. Jan. 29.Matthew C. Kreimoyer,25, of Brooklyn, New York, and formerly of Palmerton, was arrested on Dec. 16, 2012, along Hahns Dairy Road in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.21 BAC. He was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for violating conditions.Matika sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year, make restitution of $30 and render 25 hours of community service.He will begin the jail term at midnight on Feb. 4.Alex Quinones,31, of Hazleton, was arrested on March 28, 2015, along Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.10 BAC.He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service. On a summary motor vehicle code violation he was fined $25 and costs.Kelly K. Boyle,53, of Slatington, was arrested on May 14, 2015, on a charge of accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle. He was involved in a crash in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Mahoning Township then fled the scene. He was stopped later and found to be driving under suspension-DUI related. He previously pleaded to both charges.On the suspension count Matika sentenced him to serve 30 to 60 days in jail, ruling he must serve the entire 60 days, pay a fine of $500 and will receive another year suspension, render 25 hours of community service and make restitution for damages in the crash of $1,369.334. He was denied placement in the IPP because of prior revocations on other sentences.He began the jail term immediately.Each defendant must also follow the recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation, pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
