A Palmerton woman was injured Sunday morning in a crash along Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township. The crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. as she was traveling eastbound just past the intersection with Club Road. Her car apparently drifted to the left, striking the end portion of a Jersey barrier. The vehicle then bounced to the right, crossing the two eastbound lanes, climbing a steep earth embankment, then rolling back down to the roadway. The victim suffered facial injuries and was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to an area trauma center.
