The Carbon County Labor Chapter will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Democratic Information Center at 184 S. First St. in downtown Lehighton.

The agenda will include a discussion of the budget plans for 2016, and an interview with Neil Makhija, who has announced plans to run for state representative.The Labor Chapter typically meets with all of the candidates for public office regardless of political affiliation.The Labor Chapter speaks for working men and women in Carbon County.Meetings are open to active and retired union members, and supporters of the labor movement in Carbon County and the Hazleton area.For more information about the chapter, call President Terry Whiteman at 484-274-1540.
