The Panther Valley Irish American Association elected officers during a meeting held at the Elks Lodge in Lansford, naming John Shober of Lansford as its president.

Other officers are Stephen Allison of Tamaqua, first vice president; Daniel Gildea of Coaldale, second vice president; Michael Donegan of Nesquehoning, third vice president; Richard Hoben of Lansford, fourth vice president; Francis Lawton of Summit Hill, treasurer; Lawrence Furey of Lansford, financial secretary; John Crampsie of Summit Hill, sergeant-at-arms; and the Msgr. J. Francis Haley, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Summit Hill, chaplain.
