Sunday worship services in St. Peter's Union Church in Mantzville are held at 9 a.m. Sunday school classes will meet at 10:15 a.m.Also this Sunday, Cub Scouts will meet at 4 p.m.; Girl Scouts will meet at 6 p.m.Next week's activities include: Tuesday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m., Women of St. peter's meet at 7 p.m.; Thursday, apple dumpling pickup from noon to 5 p.m., Confirmation class meets at 6 p.m., cherub choir rehearses at 6:30 p.m.The church board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday.Board of HealthThe Tamaqua Board of Health held its reorganizational meeting on Jan. 6 at the Tamaqua Municipal Building. Members in attendance included Earl Boettger, Rosemarie Noftz, Christine Zizelmann R.N., Shirley Becker, health officer Judith Hadesty R.N. and health enforcement officer Matthew Myers.The board agreed to continue meeting at 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at 320 E. Broad St. Noftz was elected president, Zizelmann will serve as vice president and Becker will serve as secretary.Myers provided his end-of-year report, noting he made 48 general inspections and responded to six restaurant, nine leaking sewer, 22 animal waste, one water leak and 148 trash complaints. A total of 23 properties were condemned as unfit for human habitation.There were no cases of reportable diseases for the year.Board members and their terms of office are: Boettger, Dec. 31, 2016; Dr. Joanne Calabrese, Dec. 31, 2017; Becker, Dec. 31, 2018; Noftz, Dec. 31, 2019; and Zizelmann, Dec. 31, 2020.St. John UCCThe Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. Sunday school meets at the end of the junior sermon. A time of fellowship will be held following the service.The annual congregational meeting will be held at 11 a.m. this Sunday in the chapel.A Red Cross Bloodmobile is scheduled to be held at the church from 1 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 20.St. John LutheranThe Rev.
