A Monroe County man is facing several charges of sexual assault involving a young girl as the victim.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Wednesday, with the assistance of the Children's Advocacy Center in Monroe County, they conducted an investigation into a suspected child sexual assault which occurred in Barrett Township in December.Police said the victim of the suspected assault was a 5-year-old girl. The investigation identified Brigham Lawless, 44, of Cresco, as the suspect. Police said the investigation revealed Lawless touched the girl inappropriately and had the girl perform oral sex on him. Lawless was taken into custody and charged with felony counts of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and a misdemeanor count of indecent assault.He was arraigned before District Judge Thomas Olsen of Tannersville and committed to the county prison in Snydersville in lieu of $150,000 bail.
