A Monroe County man was arrested on a warrant in a gun-pointing incident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Sept. 25 an incident occurred at the intersection of routes 196 and 611 in Mount Pocono. Police said a driver reported he stopped at the intersection for a traffic light around 7:30 a.m. He told police another man got out of his vehicle, approached him, and pulled out a 9 mm handgun from inside his coat and pointed it at him. The other man threatened the victim then got back into his vehicle and left.The person pointing the gun was identified as Christopher Lopez, 24, of Tobyhanna.On New Year's Day Pocono Township police stopped Lopez and took him into custody on an arrest warrant issued for the September incident. While taking him into custody police found a 9 mm handgun in his possession.Lopez was taken to the county prison on charges of firearms not to be carried without a license, a felony three; and misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, possessing instruments of crime, simple assault and endangering another person.
