Miller-Keystone Blood Center's Palmerton community blood drive on Tuesday drew 67 registrants and resulted in collecting 60 units of whole blood and 10 blood components. This drive was sponsored by Janet Snyder.

The following donors reached various gallon levels in total donations: Thomas Davies, 27 gallons; Leon Techentin, 25 gallons; Helen Nonnemaker, 21 gallons; John Cebrosky, 19 gallons; Elsa Ann Behler and Brian Wanamaker, 7 gallons each; Barry George, 6 gallons; Dale Green, 5 gallons; Bryan Grey and Benjamin Winn, 1 gallon each. There were three first-time donors.A blood drive requires many volunteers, most of whom "work behind the scenes."For this drive, the following took part: Pam Andrews, George Ashman, Romaine Biege, Harry Brown, Marian Carty, Jane Cervenak, Maureen Christy, "Honey" Cyr, Thomasine Falcone, Linda Finley, Beverly Hargreaves, "Bif" Hayes, Cindy Heimbach, Anastasia Hinkle, Marian Hoffner, Bernice Kleintop, Nancy Kresge, Helen Nonnemaker, Darlene and Dick Nothstein, Carol Papay, Evelyn Plechavy, Marge Porambo, Susan Olivia, Gwen Rodrigues, Terri Sebelin, Susan Steigerwalt, Russell Stone, Mary Taschler, Tara Wargo and Brenda Wentz.The next Miller community blood drive will be on March 4. There will also be a Miller drive at Palmerton Area High School on Feb. 26, open only to students and staff.
