MIDDLETOWN - Thanks to strong ticket sales, the Powerball jackpot today was increased to a $450 million annuity value, or a $275.4 million cash prize, for the drawing tonight.
The jackpot had rolled to a $400 million annuity value, or $244 million cash prize, after the drawing on Saturday, produced no jackpot winner.In the Jan. 2 drawing, one winning Powerball with Power Play ticket worth $2 million was sold in Erie County and more than 136,800 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets sold statewide won prizes of varying amounts.If won tomorrow, the jackpot would rank as the Powerball game's fourth-largest annuity prize on record. This jackpot has been rolling since the Nov. 4, 2015, drawing.Tickets for the next Powerball drawing will be available until 9:59 p.m. today.
