A woman suffered serious injuries Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash along Lentz Trail in Jim Thorpe. She was driving east when she lost control and entered the right berm, where her car went airborne. The vehicle landed on a grassy area where it slid head-on into a tree. The impact snapped off the tree with it coming to rest on the car's roof. Members of the Jim Thorpe fire department extricated the victim from the wreckage. She was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then flown by Penn Star 5 to St. Luke's trauma center in Bethlehem. Jim Thorpe police are investigating the incident.
