December 30, 2004 - Northwestern crowns three champions to help claim the 33rd Annual Jim Thorpe holiday wrestling tournament title. The Tigers, coached by Mike Williams, receive first-place finishes from Scott Clymer at 112 pounds, Matt Vermeulen at 152 pounds, and Dan Billig at 160. Northwestern also gains runner-up finishes from Ben Beitler at 135 and Brad Humes at heavyweight. Other TN wrestlers to capture gold medals include Lehighton's Corey Frey (125 pounds) and Derek Brownmiller (130), Tamaqua's Andy Snyder (135) and Palmerton's Justin Petersen (189).
