A late night fire has destroyed a house at 302 South Ave. in Jim Thorpe.

Fire broke out at the single family dwelling shortly after 11 p.m.

Flames erupted from the windows and shot through the roof for several minutes until firefighters were able to get them knocked down.

Assisting Jim Thorpe at the scene were Nesquehoning, Lansford, Lehighton, Penn Forest and Summit Hill fire companies.
