A 13-year-old Monroe County girl died Saturday after being struck by a car Tuesday in Tobyhanna.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said Ashlee J. Smahaj died early Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

She was hit at 3:34 p.m Tuesday at the intersection of Allegheny and Candlewood drives in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County.

An autopsy will be performed on Monday to determine the exact cause of death.

The Lehigh County coroner's office and the Pocono Regional Police Department are conducting the investigation.
