A Carbon County driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County. It was one of two crashes reported by state police at Frackville.
Troopers said Denise E. Skrabak, 41, of Lansford, was driving a 2004 Suzuki Vitara southbound on Route 209 at 2:05 p.m. Monday in Blythe Township when the vehicle went off the road while she was negotiating a left curve. The vehicle struck a dirt/rock embankment causing it to roll onto the driver's side, coming to rest along the north shoulder.Skrabak received several small cuts to her arm and was transported to St. Luke's Miners Hospital-Coaldale campus, by a Pottsville EMS unit.The second crash occurred at 6:57 a.m. on Wednesday along Route 61, south of Mall Road, in Blythe Township. Troopers said William Shive, 52, of Palo Alto, was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup northbound in the right lane when he lost control while negotiating a curve. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a embankment, then rolled onto its roof. The pickup came to rest against the embankment facing south.Shive was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. The Ranger had to be towed from the scene.Troopers said Shive will be cited for the crash.
