The Rev. James J. Ward, pastor of St. Joseph and St. Stanislaus Catholic churches, Summit Hill, for the past four years, has been reassigned duties within the Diocese of Allentown.Bishop Thomas J. Welsh announced Ward, 50, a native of Tamaqua, will become pastor of three churches in St. Clair, including St. Mary's, St. Boniface and SS. Peter and Paul.To replace Ward, the bishop has appointed his secretary, the Rev. James M. Torpey, to the dual position in Summit Hill.
