The Tamaqua Area School Board approved the following hires: Melissa Beehrle of Tamaqua, full-time custodian; Gregg Boyle, substitute custodian; and Lindsey Aharonian of Tamaqua, assistant cheerleading coach.

In addition, the board approved a request by Roseann Weinrich, senior class adviser, to hold the prom on May 7, 2016, at Capriotti's, McAdoo; and approved an out-of-state trip for Thomas I. Kanger and Michael Sakash to Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Dec. 3 and 4.Five professional substitute teachers were hired: Nelson Berger and Lauren Pellock of Hazleton, Megan Hahner of Pottsville, Judith Hall of Tamaqua, and Jennifer MacMillan of Andreas.Also, six professional substitute guest teachers were hired: Thomas Flamini of Mahanoy City, Scott Freeden of Cumbola, Eric Geiger of Pottsville, Sarah Konsavage of Orwigsburg, Tom Livny of Allentown and Erica Nyberg of Schuylkill Haven.Lisa DeHaven of Andreas and Corinne Miller of Tamaqua were hired as substitute paraprofessionals.
