Crews rescued a man who fell down an embankment near the Wash Shanty Hill area in Nesquehoning Monday.

Jeremy Ogorman, 23, who suffers from epileptic seizures, fell down a rock embankment.Mark Nalesnik, Carbon County Emergency Management Agency coordinator, said that dispatchers received a call about Ogorman at 3:30 p.m.The Communications center was able to pinpoint a general area to begin a search.Nesquehoning police, as well as fire crews and ambulance, and Lehighton Ambulance, state police and Lansford firefighters responded to the area.A state police helicopter spotted Ogorman in a hole in a remote area of the rocky terrain.The Wash Shanty area still has coal mining activity in parts of the area.Once state police located the man, rescuers were able to free him.As of 5:20 p.m., medics were with the man and preparing to transport him out of the area.No other details were available at this time, Nalesnik said, noting that Nesquehoning police are in charge of the investigation.“I would not have made the night,” Ogorman said. “I’m banged up pretty bad.”He added, “I fell down a rock embankment and rescuers had to work hard to free me. Then they had to work even harder to get me down the mountain. I’m very proud of our local crews.”
