A suspect led police on a high-speed chase on Routes 248 and 946 Friday evening, according to scanner reports.

At last report, police were pursuing the suspect on foot after he abandoned his vehicle in a farm field in Lehigh Township, Northampton County.

The suspect may be wanted on a felony warrant.

The chase passed through Palmerton Borough, Lower Towamensing Township, and Lehigh Township.

Police said that the suspect ran through at least three red lights, and nearly struck a car head on while traveling in the opposite lane.

After the chase passed Blue Mountain Drive on Route 946, the suspect reportedly abandoned his vehicle and ran into a field.

Police are using a thermal camera to locate the suspect.

Police from many agencies, including Walnutport, Lehigh Township, and Colonial Regional responded.
