New Tripoli man charged with operating meth lab

A New Tripoli man has been charged by the Lehigh County Drug Task Force with operating a methamphetamine laboratory.

Alfred N. Zotter III, 48, of 6719 Madison St., rear, was charged on Nov. 6, with one count each of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine; possession of methamphetamine; possessing chemicals with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine; operating a methamphetamine laboratory and illegal dumping of methamphetamine waste; and possession of drug paraphernalia.Chief Detective Joseph P. Stauffer of the Drug Task Force said Zotter was running an active lab and that he was in the process of cooking methamphetamine when a search warrant was executed by members of the Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania State Police Meth Lab Team.An affidavit of probable cause alleges:A search warrant was executed on Nov. 6, at 6719 Madison St., rear.Zotter was in the residence, which was being used as a meth lab. The Meth Lab Team located various chemicals that are needed to make meth.Detectives found meth in bags in a pocket of Zotter’s shorts and an electric scale and grinder in the residence.
