Car rolls into Nesquehoning home

Somehow no one was injured when a runaway vehicle rolled down a hill into a home in Nesquehoning Monday afternoon.

Officials are still investigating how the vehicle started rolling down the embankment without its driver.

It appears that the GMC Envoy rolled down the hill from a parking space on nearby Railroad Street. It traveled over a retaining wall before coming to rest up against the back porch of a Center Street home.

No one was injured in the wreck.

Personnel from Nesquehoning Police Department and Nesquehoning Hose Co. #1 responded to the incident. New Columbus, Hauto and Jim Thorpe were also there. Cleanup was still underway as of 1:45 p.m. Monday.
