Eight Marian High School students attended Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week 2015. The program was held this Summer on the campus of Lycoming College in Williamsport.
Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week is an economic education program offering students an inside look at the private enterprise system and the way the free market works. Participants are divided into teams of "companies." Each company selects a CEO and the teams compete in the areas of management skills, return on new assets, marketing and advertising campaigns and stockholder presentations. The exercises are designed to teach the value of teamwork, cooperation and leadership.During the week, numerous business leaders present seminars and discussions on topics such as business/labor relationships, business ethics, management and leadership skills, economic system futures, money and banking, careers in business, marketable skills, government requirements, consumers and the global marketplace.Totally funded, taught and staffed by the Pennsylvania business community, PFEW is supported by seven manufacturer associations, more than 100 chambers of commerce and more than 800 companies. The nonprofit organization is in its 37th year of operation. Participation is open to high school sophomores and juniors.

Harkins' team won for best overall company, earning the members shares of Ford Motor Company stock.
