WWE's Sunny arrested for missing court date

A WWE Hall of Famer was locked up in Carbon County Prison Friday for failing to appear in court on a DUI charge.

Tamara Lynn Sytch, better known to WWE fans as "Sunny," was arrested Friday on a bench warrant.

A judge issued the warrant after Sytch, of Palmerton, missed a formal arraignment on DUI charges in connection with a May 30 traffic stop in Mahoning Township.

She was arrested for DUI a total of three times between May 30 and June 20 of this year, all in Carbon County.

Her bail was set at $2,000. As of Friday evening, she was still in custody.

The judge reportedly advised Sytch not to discuss the case on social media. She has more than 57,000 followers on her twitter account, @WWEHOFerSunny.

When a wrestling blog posted an article about the bench warrant earlier this month, Sytch responded through the account.

"that news is over a month old.... Really now??!!!?? That's what happens when you miss a court date. No biggie," she wrote.

She has been set to go to trial in the case on Dec.8.

Her next scheduled court date is Oct. 7, before Judge William Kissner in Palmerton, when she will appear for preliminary hearings on the two other DUI charges that she received earlier this year.

Sytch previously served four months in a Connecticut prison for violating a restraining order.

The 42-year-old was elected to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. Sunny is regarded as the first of WWE's female wrestlers, referred to as "Divas".
