Tamaqua police cited Jason Ensel, 30, of 405 Pine St., Tamaqua, after he took a cellphone from a neighbor's apartment.

The victim told police he was in a friend's apartment on Pine Street early in the morning on Sept. 3.He was having problems connecting to the Wi-Fi, when Ensel said he could solve the problem. Ensel took the Samsung Galaxy S5 and went into a back room.About one hour later, Ensel left, saying the phone was on the clothes dryer. The victim checked, but his phone was not there.Officers went to Ensel's home where they spoke with his mother. When told why officers were there she offered to go upstairs and get him. She came back downstairs and said he wasn't home, telling police they could check for themselves.Ensel was cited for theft and receiving stolen property.
