After many months of work, planning and discussions, the office renovation project has been completed at Bowmanstown Borough Hall.
Among compliments from residents in attendance and fellow council members, President Kara Scott acknowledged the hard work and her gratitude to fellow council members Rob Moyer and Darren Thomas.Moyer chairs the property committee that addressed the renovation needs."Mr. Thomas was behind the layout and should receive the recognition," Moyer added after Scott offered her thank-you.The renovation consisted of a new entry door to the borough office, a new counter space for residents and visitors to address the office staff and speak directly to them, as well as added security to the office staff with limited access to the entire borough office.In other news, council member Pam Leiby announced the law committee would be reviewing the borough's property maintenance and nuisance ordinances with some recommendations on changes to be made.During the budget committee reports, the status of a 1989 GMC pickup once used by the streets department was brought to the floor for discussion.A motion made by street committee chair Norm Engle to sell the vehicle was unanimously passed.The Bowmanstown Fire Department will be holding a boot drive fundraiser in the borough on Sept. 19.Members of the fire department were present to offer an invitation to council members to help with this endeavor.Some council members showed interest in helping out the fire department with this fundraiser.
