Palmerton Area School Board on a 6-0 vote at a special meeting on Tuesday took the following action:

• Approved Joshua Nenscel as a high school special education teacher, at the rate of $48,926, with the start date to be determined.• Approved David O Brien III as a high school English teacher, at the rate of $43,982, effective today.• Approved Miranda Moyer as a one-on-one instructional assistant for a seventh-grade student in the Life Skills Classroom, at the rate of $13.71 an hour for up to 29.5 hours per week, effective today. • Approved Tracy Potten as the salad production worker at the high school, effective Aug. 24, for 5.9 hours per day.• Removed Ashton Brinker from the substitute teacher list.• Removed Norm Kern from the substitute custodian list.• Accepted the memorandums of understanding between the school district and the Palmerton Police Department.• Approved the American Red Cross shelter agreement.
