A Lehighton man has been charged with stealing over $13,000 in jewelry.

According to Mahoning Township police, it was reported that on July 27, thousands of dollars in jewelry was stolen from a residence on Mahoning Drive East.An investigation revealed that Warren Shook, 45, took the jewelry.He was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, both felonies.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9.
