Rush Township man faces 4 felony charges

A 20-year-old Rush Township man faces four felony charges related to inappropriate contact with a 13-year-old girl.

Kyle Joseph Hosler of 57 Frankford Ave. was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police and arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer Thursday on charges of sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communications facility.Trooper John Powis began an investigation into Hosler's activities after the girl's mother contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children earlier this year. She had discovered her daughter had been corresponding with an adult male on social media.The woman found images and messages of a sexual nature had been exchanged between the juvenile and Hosler between Nov. 11, 2014 and March 25, 2015. She also felt Hosler was pressuring the young girl to send him additional sexual images.During the investigation, police determined that initial contact was made through the online application Omegle. The girl first told Hosler she was 15, but then told him her true age one week later. He continued to keep in touch with her through the Internet sites Kik Messenger, Snapchat and Skype.During the Skype video conversations, Hosler and the girl both undressed and watched each other perform acts of self-gratification. Images were also sent through Kik with both of them in various stages of undressing. The two also shared photos of their private parts.A search warrant was executed at Hosler's home on May 21 and his cell phone was confiscated. After a forensics review, the charges were filed.Judge Bayer set bail at $25,000 unsecured.
