Named to dean's list

Emily Ward of Tamaqua has been named to the dean's list for the 2014 fall semester and 2015 spring semester at Philadelphia University, Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce.

She is majoring in fashion merchandising and management and is a member of FAME, Fashion Apparel Merchandising Experience Club. As a member of FAME, she was selected to tour Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City, QVC in West Chester and participated in "The Bellevue Gets Engaged" event in Philadelphia, a large bridal expo, which included a bridal fashion show featuring designer Nicole Miller.Emily is also a member of the PhilaU Rams cheerleading squad in which she cheers for the men's and women's basketball teams. This year's squad cheered Coach McGee, of the men's basketball team, to his 1,000th win over 48 seasons. He is the second NCAA Division II men's basketball coach to achieve this milestone.Emily was a 2014 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School where she was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad for four years.She is the daughter of Thomas and Ruth Ward and granddaughter of Margaret Steele, all of Tamaqua, and James J. Ward of Nesquehoning.
