Theft call leads to charges for the caller

A Tamaqua woman who wanted her boyfriend arrested found herself in jail on Aug. 6.

Tina Marie Hosier, 29, of 130 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, called police at 11:38 a.m. to say her boyfriend had taken $200 from her purse. She was chasing after him and was in the area of Pine and Broad streets. When officers arrived, neither Hosier nor the boyfriend were in sight.Instead, officers found Hosier at the corner of Vine and Washington streets. They asked if she was aware of the 10 outstanding warrants for her arrest. She said yes, but she "didn't have time to take care of them yet."When told she was being arrested on those warrants, she became uncooperative. As officers began placing handcuffs on her wrist, she fought to keep hold of a purse. At one point, she removed a knife from a side compartment and threw it to the street. As she continued to resist, she was taken to the ground and handcuffed. The knife was recovered.Inside the purse police found a bud grinder with marijuana residue, 12 wax paper packets marked "Hard Nine" containing a powder, $34 in cash and a small bag with a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. The powder field tested positive for heroin.In addition to going to jail on the warrants, she was charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.She was transported to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
