Pennsylvania Turnpike officials and consumer advocates are warning people who pay tolls using E-ZPass to watch out for an email phishing scam. The emails claim the recipient owes money on their E-ZPass accounts. The emails ask the reader to click on an Internet link to take care of the problem, but the link infects their computer with a virus.
Caitlin Driscoll of the Better Business Bureau says the emails use the E-ZPass logo and look legitimate. But turnpike officials say they don't communicate with E-ZPass users by email.
