The Lehighton Area Halloween parade may be about two months away but plans are already under way.

The parade committee said the 45th edition of the parade will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, starting at 4 p.m. with the rain date for Sunday, with a 2 p.m. start time.The parade has been increasing in size throughout the year and so has the expenses.This year the committee is looking for band sponsors. In order to sponsor a band, the committee is requesting a donation of $400.Financial help in conducting previous parades has been greatly appreciated, the committee noted.Any monetary contribution to help defray expenses this year will also be appreciated.Donations can be sent to the Lehighton Area Halloween Parade Committee, P.O.
