The Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission will host a recovery awareness walk and reception on Sept. 17. The walk begins at 9:30 a.m. at the commission's office at 428 S. Seventh St., Lehighton, and will do a short loop through the borough.
The event is being held in conjunction with National Recovery Month, a movement that promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment and recovery for mental and substance use disorders.No registration is required to participate.Information on the services that are provided at the reception following the walk.In addition, the commission's mock bedroom will be set up for parents and adult community members to view places teens typically hide drugs in theirbedrooms and what the products look like that are available to hide itemsin.For more information on the events the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission is hosting contact the office at 610-377-5177.
