Three people were injured Saturday morning in a crash along the west bound lanes of Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township.

The crash occurred just after 9 a.m. at the 287.6 mile marker involving a tractor trailer and a pickup.

Two people in the pickup were entrapped and injured.

The rig appeared to have struck the pickup in the rear then swerved to the left rolling over a set of guard rails and down an embankment coming to rest on its side.

The westbound lane were reduced to one lane. All three injured at the scene were transported to the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the incident.
