McDonald's in Brodheadsville closed because of water problem

The McDonald's restaurant on Route 209 in Brodheadsville has been temporarily closed after an inspection by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. The sign posted on the door indicates a problem with the hot water supply.

A call was placed to the store for comment. A female manager answered and said, "I'm not allowed to comment" and hung up.

Later this afternoon the business posted a sign saying that the hot water heater wasn't functioning and would be repaired shortly.

"We would love to see you back here for dinner with a free dessert from us," the business posted.

The inspection was notice was dated so the Department of Agriculture database has not been updated.

A call to Region III of the department was not immediately returned.

The restaurant was last inspected in January. At that time there were four violations:

Food employees observed in prep area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers.

Chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 0* ppm, and not -Drain line under three compartment sink leaks.

An accumulation of grease was observed in the hand wash sink, indicating uses other than handwashing.
