A Monroe County man has been charged with simple assault following an incident that occurred at 10:37 p.m. on Sunday.

State police at Lehighton said Thomas Howell, 50, of Kresgeville, was charged after he physically struck a 49-year-old female in the face at 102 Trach Road, in Kresgeville. Charges were filed, troopers said.
