Trent D. Bocan was given a five-year contract by the Lehighton Area School Board to succeed Dr. Robert Klucharitz as the district's superintendent of schools.

Bocan's first-year salary was set at $98,000.The new chief executive officer served the past two years as superintendent of schools in the Line Mountain School District, Northumberland County.In other school board action, Michael Lusch was named the district's new athletic director.
