Two people died as a result of a motorcycle crash Friday on Route 309 in Lynn Township.

David J. Hummel, 52, of Kutztown, was driving when his motorcycle left the road at and struck a tree about a half mile north of Mountain Road in New Tripoli. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His wife, Suzanne L. Hummel, 51, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office and the Pennsylvania State Police are conducting the investigation.
