Aaron Dolena, 29, of Nesquehoning, was sentenced this week by Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika in three separate incidents.
Dolena pleaded guilty to being charged by Nesquehoning police with driving under the influence on April 15, 2013, along Columbus Avenue. Matika sentenced him to serve 90 days to six months in the Carbon County Correctional Facility. However, he was given credit for 272 days served, therefore his jail term was satisfied.Matika assessed a $1,500 fine against Dolena, ordered him to provide 100 hours of community service, suspended his driver's license for 18 months, and levied a zero tolerance order against the man for drugs and alcohol use, as well as for urine screenings.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in the same case, Dolena was placed on probation for six months, the probation to run concurrent with the sentence on the DUI charge.In a second case, Dolena pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal trespass and was sentenced to two years of probation, to run consecutive to his DUI sentence. He was charged with criminal trespass for an incident on Aug. 2, 2013. Various items, including electronic devices and jewelry, were taken from a residence.Dolena must also make restitution of $1,085.55 to the victim, is not allowed to have any contact with the victim's family, and was ordered to provide an additional 100 hours of community service.In the third sentence, Dolena was charged by state police at the Hazleton barracks with receiving stolen property stemming from an incident on May 29, 2013, in Beaver Meadows, where jewelry was taken.On that charge, Matika placed Dolena on probation for one year, to run concurrent with the first two sentences, and ordered he have no contact to the victims in the case, in which he pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.
