Blue Shamrock Golf Club will celebrate the golf course's 100th anniversary Friday through Sunday.

The event will begin with special food and drink specials at 4:40 p.m. and entertainment by Becky & The Beast from 6:30-9:30 p.m.Saturday will feature beverage and food specials, a golf outing at 2 p.m., and a buffet open to the public, starting at 4:30 p.m.Sunday will include a pig roast at 6:30 p.m., entertainment by "The Rogue Diplomats," and a full display of fireworks at 9:30 p.m.Tim Nagle, general manager, said the celebration is the golf club's way to express its appreciation to the community.Blue Ridge LLC consists of Nagle, president, his wife, Lisa, his father-in-law Bruce Ebert, and his sister-in-law Tari Ebert, who are all equal partners.Together, they own Pipeline Petroleum Inc. of Macungie, which has been in operation for 65 years, as well as Pocono Oil & Propane of Stroudsburg, which has been in business for 40 years.In addition, they are involved in Blue Mountain Ski Resort near Palmerton.The former Blue Ridge Country Club reopened as Blue Shamrock Golf Club on April 5, 2014.Since then, the course has transitioned from private to public."Business is picking up," Nagle said. "Overall, I believe it's going very well."A full driving range, a 6,000-square-foot shamrock-shaped tee box on the course's 10th hole, a remodeled upstairs bar and dining area, and a lower-level Irish pub with patio are among the other additions Nagle and the rest of the Blue Ridge LLC ownership team have brought to the property since taking over in February 2014.A short-range sand trap practice area is also available.Sunset Ridge Restaurant and Bar, located on the second level of the 19,000-square-foot clubhouse built in 2003, now accommodates 200 people.It is open seven days a week starting at 11 a.m. The kitchen closes around 8:30 p.m. or later, depending on the crowd.The downstairs Gallagher's Irish Pub is open several nights a week, with occasional live music.Greens fees range from $15 to $54 with yearly packages also available.Blue Shamrock Golf Club also serves as a venue to host weddings, banquets, and golf outings.Yearly golf packages are available.For more information, call 610-826-2504, or visit golfblueshamrock.com.
