Nesquehoning native Jack Corby was hired as the new superintendent of schools in the Whitehall-Coplay School District.

A son of the late Vernon and Florence Corby, his background includes being a social studies teacher at Tamaqua Area High School, followed by a stint as the guidance counselor there before serving in principal capacities in the Palmerton Area School District.Corby is a 1975 graduate of Panther Valley High School who furthered his education at Kutztown and East Stroudsburg universities.
