Two people were injured Saturday afternoon when involved in a single vehicle crash along Route 209 in Jim Thorpe. The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. on a rain slicked roadway just west of the Liberties.

Apparently the pickup truck slid on the roadway into a rock wall. Reports from the scene are at least one of the two occupants was ejected from the vehicle.

The victims were treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics and transported to a local trauma center.

Route 209 was closed for over an hour.

Numerous units of the Jim Thorpe fire department responded to the scene. Jim Thorpe police are investigating the incident.
