Carbon officials fill board spots

Carbon County officials took action to appoint residents to various boards.

On Thursday, the commissioners voted on the following appointments:• Approve the appointment of Wallace Putkowski of Lehighton, to fill a vacancy on the Hospital Authority. The term will expire on Dec. 31, 2019.• Approve the reappointment of Edith Lukasevich of Jim Thorpe to the Hospital Authority. The term will expire Dec. 31, 2018.• Approve the appointment of Kim Miller, executive director of the Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services, to the Pocono Counties Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Development Board, formerly the Workforce Investment Board for the term July 1 through June 30, 2017.In other matters, the county approved the addendum to its software license and services agreement, dated March 31, 2014, with Extract Systems LLC of Madison, Wisconsin. The addendum increases the annual day-forward processing volume from 175,000 pages to 275,000 pages per year. The cost increase for the licensed software is $4,827 for a new total of $19,574; and for the services, $869, for a new total of $23,523.The commissioners also voted on the following personnel moves:• Accept the resignation of Sheryl M. Popowitz of Quakertown as a department clerk I, Domestic Relations, effective June 29.• Hire Christian J. Archer of Summit Hill as a summer laborer, Liquid Fuels Summer Program, effective June 26.• Hire Valerie H. Stuart of Albrightsville as a part-time dispatcher/trainee, Communications Center, effective July 6.• Correct a leave of absence request for Ann Marie Bossard of Palmerton, part-time cleaning person, from June 25 to July 6.
