Carbon driver injured in rollover Lehigh crash

A Carbon County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 7:11 a.m. Tuesday in Lehigh County.

State police at Bethlehem said Virginia Kimax, 63, of Lehighton, was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla southbound on Route 873 in Washington Township near Hillside Road when she told troopers she placed her coffee in a cup holder and lost control of her steering.The car struck the grass and stone embankment on the right berm causing it to flip over onto its roof. The car came to rest blocking both lanes of travel for about an hour. Kimak sustained minor injuries and was taken by Northern Valley ambulance to the Palmerton hospital for treatment.The car was towed from the scene. She was cited for the crash, troopers said.
