Almost 1,800 tomato, zucchini, eggplant, red and green pepper, cucumber, basil, corn, green bean and parsley seedlings were planted. The goal is to provide fresh produce and eggs to 10 Monroe County food banks throughout the growing season. Currently asparagus and eggs are being distributed, and the onions and garlic that were planted in early spring will be harvested in July. The Garden thanks Daisy Troop 812 and its leaders, DaVita Healthcare Partners and Sean Manear from Troop 103 for their time and contributions.Much gratitude goes to Candace, who has "held the fort down" in the office for the past several years. She is leaving but the time and energy she has given the garden is greatly appreciated. The Garden of Giving is a great place for people and groups to learn and have fun while giving to their community. There is always a need for chicken feed and volunteers to help with the chickens, in the office, on the website, on the board and at fundraising events. For more information contact the Garden of Giving at 570-402-1282 or email
