The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation and Beltzville State Park will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Beltzville State Park Environmental Interpretation Center to discuss the formation of a friends group.

A friends group is a group of motivated residents in the local community that understand and appreciate the value of a state park or forest. These people work to make their favorite park or forest as clean, accessible and exciting as it can be. Many groups host trail cleanup days, public interest events, and help maintain park structures. This meeting will serve as an opportunity to identify the needs of Beltzville State Park, develop a list of goals for the friends group, discuss the ideas of potential members, and decide what steps to take next.
