Prison possible in heroin-selling case

A Carbon County woman admitted Thursday in the county court to selling methamphetamine and is facing a prison term at the time of sentencing.

Karen Marie Foster, 52, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-heroin, and criminal use of a communication facility, both felonies.Foster was arrested after she sold heroin to a confidential informant working for the Mahoning Township police.On May 3 the CI called Foster to set up a purchase at her residence, 126 Jamestown St. The CI went to the home and made the purchase.Police then secured a search warrant for the home.Heroin and other drug items were found inside the home.Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the plea telling Foster that under state sentencing guidelines she faced a prison term on each count, and that those terms could run concurrent or consecutive to each other.Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.
