Police subdue man at West Penn fire scene

Police had to subdue a man at the scene of a barn and house fire on Lumber Lane in West Penn Township Sunday morning.

West Penn Chief of Police Brian Johnson said Brad Comisac, 37, set both his barn and his home on fire.Johnson was the first to arrive on scene and found Comisac in the barn, apparently attempting to hide.Johnson said Comisac told him he was high on bath salts.When Johnson attempted to aid the man he began to exhibit bizarre behavior, running, and at times crawling, to evade the chief and his help.It took about 45 minutes to bring Comisac under control by police, medical personnel and firefighters.Comisac was suffering from burns and deep wounds.He was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and flown by Penn Star helicopter to the burn unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.He is listed in critical condition.There was minimal damage to the house and barn.
