Lansford man given state time

A Lansford man, currently in a state prison, pleaded guilty to additional criminal charges before Judge Joseph J. Matika on Thursday in Carbon County court and was sentenced to a state prison term.

Kyle Lawrence Nalesnik, 28, pleaded guilty to one count each of hindering apprehension and criminal mischief in two separate incidents. He was charged with the hindering count on Nov. 10, 2014, when Lansford police responded to his residence at 146 W. Patterson St., for a reported domestic incident. On scene officers found Nalesnik had an altercation with his girlfriend, identified as Alexis Goldberg.Police said Nalesnik was previously told by them that Goldberg was wanted on a warrant, and if he had any contact with her to notify police. He did not and police learned she had been living with him for some time before the November incident. The mischief count was filed for a Dec. 8, 2014, incident. Police responded to Nalesnik's residence for another disturbance and took him into custody. While in custody he caused damages at the police station. A charge of institutional vandalism was dropped in a plea bargain. On the hindering charge Matika sentenced him to serve six to 24 months in a state correctional institution. However, he ruled the term would run concurrent with a 10- to 36-month state term he is serving that was imposed by Matika in February. On the mischief count he was placed on probation for a year concurrent with the other count. He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance imposed for D&A use, make restitution of $600.79 to the borough of Lansford for damages, and supply a DNA sample.Nalesnik is an inmate at the state prison at Camp Hill.
