tneditor@tnonline.com.Sunday•American Legion Post 16, Slatington will have memorial services at outlying cemeteries, leaving the post home at 8 a.m. The schedule: Williamstown Cemetery, 8:10 a.m.; Jacksonville Cemetery, 8:40 a.m.; New Tripoli

U.C.C. Cemetery, 9:15 a.m.; Heidelberg

U.C.C., 9:45 a.m.; Neffs Lutheran Cemetery, 10:15 a.m.; Seventh St. Catholic Church, 10:45 a.m.; Fairview Cemetery, 11 a.m.; Friedens Cemetery, 11:15 a.m.; Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 11:45 a.m.; then back to the post home for dinner.•Summit Hill American Legion Post 316 will hold a memorial service at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Cemetery in the White Bear section of the community.•The Coaldale American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts will hold two services this Sunday. The first will be at 1 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial, located in the Seek section of the borough, and the second will be at 2:30 p.m. at Coaldale Borough Hall.•West End Park and Open Space Commission presents Leigh Lombardo-Cole and Chris Eckert together in concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, Chestnuthill Park, 221 Route 715, Brodheadsville in a tribute to veterans. Free refreshments for all veterans. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray.•Polk Township will hold its Memorial Day program honoring veterans at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans Memorial on Route 209 in Kresgeville.•Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008, outlying cemetery services will be held on Sunday. The contingent will begin at noon with the Knauf Memorial on the Broad Mountain and follow their usual route, ending at the Hauto Memorial.•Cannon dedication, 1 p.m. Sunday, Courthouse Square, Stroudsburg. Officials will dedicate the final cannon at Courthouse Square in downtown Stroudsburg in memory of the 53 Monroe County Civil War soldiers who were killed in action on America's battlefields.• Area veterans will be honored at a Memorial Day Service at 9 a.m. Sunday at First Congregational Church, Coaldale. All area veterans are welcome to attend this service, which will include a projection showing of pictures of local veterans, as well as the Memorial Day Choir, consisting of members of various churches in the Panther Valley and Tamaqua.• Dolon-Jones-Martino American Legion Post 304, Jim Thorpe, services include placing a memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps at 8:30 a.m., Vietnam Memorial; 8:50 a.m., Civil War Memorial; 9:05 a.m., Korean War Memorial; 9:20 a.m., Liberties Monument; 9:35 a.m., Route 903 Bridge; 10 a.m., Christman's Cemetery; 10:30 a.m., Henning Cemetery; 11 a.m., Hickory Run State Park; 11:15 a.m., St. Paul's Church (Albrightsville); noon, World War I Memorial; 12:15 p.m., World War II Monument (East Side).Monday• The American Legion Post 16 in Slatington will hold memorial services at the following cemeteries, leaving the post home at 8 a.m.: Catholic Cemetery on Washington Street, 8:05 a.m.; Slatedale Cemetery, 8:30 a.m.; Trout Creek New Covered Bridge at 5 N. Seventh St., where flowers will be scattered in the creek to remember veterans lost at sea, 8:50 a.m.; then back to the post home to form the parade.• Slatington, 95th consecutive Memorial Day Parade, starting at 10 a.m. from Main and Second streets to the Fairview Cemetery, where memorial services will start at 10:30 a.m. In case of inclement weather, services will be held at the Slatington Baptist Church, 509 Main St.• Summit Hill, memorial services at 10 a.m. in Ludlow Park on Monday before the start of the Memorial Day parade at 11 a.m., hosted by the Summit Hill Memorial Day Parade Committee.• Tamaqua Memorial Day parade, 10 a.m.• Hometown, Memorial Day Service, Sky-View Memorial Park Cemetery, 11:30 a.m.• Palmerton Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m., with service to follow at 11 a.m. in the Borough Park.• Lansford American Legion Memorial Day services begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Monument in Kennedy Park. There will be no parade this year. The Legion will place flags on veterans' graves in the Summit Hill cemeteries before Memorial Day.• American Legion Post 927, Gilbert, Memorial Day service, 11 a.m. at the intersection of Route 209 and Fairgrounds Road. Refreshments will be available after the service.• The annual Nesquehoning Memorial Day parade will form at the recreation center at 8 a.m. and begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Stops will be made at the monuments located at the intersection of routes 209 and 54 as well as at the Lions Club veterans memorial, next to Turkey Hill, for wreath placement, prayer, firing squad and the playing of taps. The parade will conclude at the VFW Post 8008, 300 E. Center St., for the main program.• Dolon-Jones-Martino American Legion Post 304, Jim Thorpe, services include placing a memorial wreath, prayer, salute and taps on Monday at 8:15 a.m., Immaculate Conception Cemetery; 8:45 a.m., Evergreen Cemetery; 9:10 a.m., St. Joseph's Cemetery; 10 a.m., Mauch Chunk Cemetery.Closings:All Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver's license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed Saturday through Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
